Email hello@feedsaver.app. Tell us what you were doing and what FeedSaver showed.
A diagnostic report helps us see what happened. In FeedSaver, open Settings, find Updates and support and press Save diagnostic report. FeedSaver saves a small text file called FeedSaver-diagnostics.json in your save folder. It holds the app version, the connection state and how your last save ended. You can open it and read it before you attach it to your email.
FeedSaver can't save to my folder
If FeedSaver stops with “Windows blocked this folder”, “This drive is full” or “The save folder isn't connected”, it can't write to the folder you chose. Everything saved so far stays in your folder.
The usual causes on Windows:
- Controlled folder access. This Windows setting can stop new apps from writing to protected folders. You find it in Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Ransomware protection.
- A folder you can't write to. For example a folder that belongs to another user, or one that is read-only.
- A full drive. There is no room left for the files.
- A drive that was removed or disconnected. For example an external drive that is unplugged.
- A OneDrive folder that is offline. The folder isn't available on your PC right now.
What to do:
- Choose another folder. On the message, press Choose another folder, select the new folder, then press Start a new save here. Resume keeps using the old folder.
- Or allow FeedSaver in Controlled folder access. In Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Ransomware protection, open Manage ransomware protection, choose Allow an app through Controlled folder access and add FeedSaver.
- Free up space on the drive, or reconnect the drive. For a OneDrive folder, make sure OneDrive is running and the folder is available on your PC.
Fixed the original folder? Go back to FeedSaver and press Resume. If you started a new save in a new folder, you don't need Resume. Still stuck? Email us with a diagnostic report.
